ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - US and Israeli attacks on Iran using warplanes, missiles, and drones are continuing. Since Monday, their assaults have intensified particularly in Tehran, Isfahan, and southern Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has offered to allow regional countries to use the Strait of Hormuz in return for the expulsion of American and Israeli ambassadors.
Around midnight on Monday, and early Tuesday morning, another wave of airstrikes targeted security and military facilities as well as energy infrastructure in Tehran, Karaj, Tabriz, and Isfahan.
According to Iranian media reports, several locations, particularly inside Tehran and its surrounding areas, were targeted. Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters said they had shot down a number of missiles in the skies over Tehran.
After noon on Monday, several areas – especially in eastern and western Tehran – were bombed, particularly the neighborhoods of Tehransar, Sohravardi, Apadana, Resalat, Kouhak, Qaleh Hasan Khan, and South Majidiyeh. The central police command building in western Tehran and a Basij base called Karbala on Resalat Street were among the bombed locations.
According to the head of Tehran’s civil defense, two buildings in eastern Tehran were struck by missiles, killing dozens of people.
According to information residents in Tehran shared with media outlets, several houses and buildings in the city were bombed, though it is unclear what they were and none of the buildings had any signs identifying them. One of the targeted sites was reportedly a private company specializing in internet filtering.
Monday afternoon, the IRGC command center, several administrative offices, and a military base in Shahriar, west of Tehran province, were also attacked. On Monday night, a target near Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport was bombed.
In Alborz province, two IRGC and Basij bases in the Golshahr neighborhood and two Basij bases on Golzar-e Gharb Street and in the Mehrshahr neighborhood in the city of Karaj were bombed.
