ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Since early Thursday morning, US and Israeli forces have targeted dozens of military and security bases belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kurdish provinces using drones, missiles, and aircraft.
What distinguishes Thursday’s attacks from the previous days in western Iran (Rojhelat) is that a larger number of army (Artesh) bases were targeted on Thursday.
West Azerbaijan province
On Thursday night, an army base near the city of Piranshahr was targeted with missiles. Several bases of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the border area of Kani Khoda, along the border between Rojhelat and Kurdistan Region, were also bombed.
Kermanshah province
On Thursday night in the city of Kermanshah, the city’s police command headquarters was targeted with missiles. Attacks on security and military bases in the city continued throughout the day.
One of the sites bombed on Thursday evening was a military base in the Chamchamal area of Sulaimani province in the Kurdistan Region near the city of Bisotun in Kermanshah in Rojhelat.
Earlier on Thursday, two police bases and several targets around the Kermanshah oil field were bombed again. According to sources in Kermanshah, the main headquarters of the IRGC, the Intelligence Directorate, as well as the government radio and television administration are located near that field.
A building in the Sixth Bahman neighborhood of Kermanshah was also targeted.
On Thursday night, the Hemat military base in Ravansar, Kermanshah province, was also bombed.
On Thursday morning, an IRGC base on the outskirts of Sonqor in Kermanshah province was also targeted. The Iranian border guard command center in the city of Qasr-e Shirin was also struck Thursday morning.
By noon Thursday, three military centers in the city of Kangavar in Kermanshah province were also bombed. According to information, one of the sites was a weapons and ammunition depot.
Security and military bases in the city of Javanrud were once again bombed.
