ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Israeli forces have advanced into Syrian territory at more than one location, state media and a conflict monitor stated on Saturday.
Israeli forces moved toward the village of al-Hamidiyah located in Quneitra province on Saturday, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported, calling it a violation of international treaties and the 1974 disengagement agreement.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated that Israeli patrol vehicles “headed from Al-Ishah village to Al-Rabi’a neighbourhood and farmlands to the north of Al-Rafidu and Ain Al-Abd towns in the southern countryside of Al-Quneitra.”
Israeli drones were operating in the skies while the patrol was conducting searches and setting up checkpoints, according to SOHR.
A day earlier, a six-vehicle Israeli military patrol also advanced into Syrian territory, SANA reported.
The SOHR also reported that Israeli forces on Friday advanced “into an area near Ain Aisha junction on Al-Shalam highway which connects Damascus and Al-Quneitra, where the junction is located nearly 40 kilometers away from Damascus city centre. The Israeli forces established a checkpoint, before they withdrew a few hours later.
