ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The mother of a member of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday travelled tens of kilometers with the hope finding her son, whom she believes has been detained by the Syrian Arab Army since the recent clashes.
"He went to the front about a month ago. It has now been 25 days since he went missing and we know nothing about him," the mother, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told Rudaw.
"On the evening of the withdrawal day, he spoke with us at 5 pm; that day was Friday. We went everywhere—we went to Hasaka and Qamishli and asked around, but we found nothing," she said, referring to the withdrawal of SDF fighters from parts of Aleppo city as well as Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa provinces last month.
