“Both of us are very worried about the situation in the region and both of us have an interest in things to calm down in the region,” Salam told Rudaw after the meeting.
Salam said Lebanon and the Kurdistan Region share what he called a “common concern” over stability, warning against escalation.
“We have a shared concern, which is stability in the region. No one wants a war here, as the harm would affect everyone. This is the goal and the mutual interest we share with the Kurdistan Region,” he said.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam hailed his meeting with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on the sidelines of the first day of the #MSC2026 as "very good".
